Welcome to our site.

Popcorn is always a hit. Not only is it delicious and healthy, with a high fibre content. It can also be virtually free of sugar and fat depending on how the popping takes place.

Popcorn can always be popped in a microwave. However not only is this quite expensive, you cannot control the amount of sugar, salt, etc in these products, so it can be much more unhealthy.

And the smell and anticipation - and taste! - of properly freshly popped popcorn from a popcorn machine is great!

How they work

Popcorn machines in the commercial sector usually work by popping the popcorn in oil.

Generally domestic popcorn machines use hot air - and therefore produce much healthier popcorn. Depending on the amount of sugar added, then about 5% fat, as opposed to 60% fat for oil popped popcorn.

Power and size

The smallest popcorn machines take around 3 to 4 minutes to provide about 3 to 4 ounces. Enough for up to about 4 people.

The higher the wattage, the quicker the popcorn will be popped. It’s best to choose one with 800W or more for the fastest results.

Cleaning

Cleaning popcorn machines is not usually too difficult as there is often a “kernel tray” that contains any drips and small pieces, that can be taken out and cleaned.
